It was a great week! Busy but fun. The beginning was all preparation for the eco-fair (or in Spanish eco-feria). The idea is that after having visited the school Justo Sierra in Amealco twice, we wanted a big send off to teach about environmental issues and then have a party afterward. On Monday we did some preparation, then on Tuesday we left in the afternoon to spend a night in a hotel closer to Amealco in order to get there earlier the next morning. It was the same hotel we went to the first two nights after arriving in Mexico. It was like a big sleepover. We swam and played beach volleyball.
Wednesday was the Eco-Fair. It went really well! My group did our activity on the food web. Emma dressed up as the sun, George dressed up like he was on a safari, and I tried to dress up like the ocean as each outfit correlated to the ecosystem we used as a demonstration. Afterwards, I said some closing words to all the students and we gave them food as our way to celebrate all our efforts.
Thursday we went to a break dance class and then saw the third Venom movie.
Friday Jeff, a PC volunteer who started his service here in Mexico a year ago led a Cumbia class after work. Later we played pool in a billiards bar and got midnight tacos!
Saturday went rock climbing and then to a cafe to get work done, which is where I find myself writing this blog post! Next week is the last week of training, there’s a lot to look forward too!
Thanks for reading! ¡Hasta la próxima!
