Week 0

After the 1am departure flight and a four hour layover, we finally arrived in Mexico around 3pm. The sun felt strong but the heat was bearable. We were welcomed by PC staff after making it through customs! We then took an hour long bus ride to a town on the outskirts of Querétaro to finally arrive at our hotel at around 5pm. We ate then what I think was supposed to be our lunch. They told us dinner was going to be at 9pm! they say in Mexico that they eat dinner late than we do in the US. The hotel was beautiful, big open spaces and many trees. They must have had at least 10 peacocks on the premises! For the two days we stayed there, we would take classes on the PC medical team, Mexican culture and some light history, and security and safety. After those days, we would go into Querétaro City to live with our homestay families and begin the 10 week training process.
